Oh, how we love the Sandman here in New Hampshire.  He is one of us.

Maybe this is such common knowledge here in the Granite State that I take it for granted that everyone knows that Adam Sandler is from Manchester, New Hampshire.  He graduated from Manchester Central High School, so I was very excited to hear that he mentioned his High School Reunions in his acceptance speech from AARP.

Henry Winkler, a/k/a, the FONZ, a/k/a a good buddy of Adam's introduced him as the recipient of AARP's Movies for Grownups Award, "Career Achievement Honor." He stepped up to the podium to reveal 10 Reasons Why He's F*&^% Old.  (Besides the fact that he's getting an award from AARP.)

Adam started to list all the reasons why he's old, from this Instagram Reel.  Here are some of my favorites:

  • 1.  "The other day, I had to swallow a Viagra just to take a [pee].  And of course I had to call my doctor because of [pee] lasting for more than four hours."
  • 2.  "When I sit down, it sounds like a semi-truck driving over a family of lobsters cracking their knuckles and eating Pop Rocks."
  • 6.  "When I dive to the bottom of the pool, most of my back skin stays floating on top of the water."

and the one I like best because he's talking about New Hampshire:

7.  "At my high school reunions, I spend most of the night saying, 'I'm so sorry to hear that.'"

Adam Sandler is Having a Good Year

I'm happy that Adam is back in the spotlight this year and the end of last.  He was recently nominated for a Golden Globe award for his film, Jay Kelly, but he lost to someone I have never heard of - Stellan Skarsgard for the movie Sentimental Value.  Adam was robbed.
