All 50 State Mottos Ranked, Where Does New Hampshire’s Fall?

Yahoo! Travel recently ranked the 50 state mottos and New Hampshire's "Live Free or Die" came very close to taking top honors.

The famous phrase written by General John Stark became the official state motto in 1945. It is one of the most famous mottos, and definitely one of the coolest, and that's why it comes in at #2 on Yahoo! Travel's list.

As for the rest of our New England brethren:

#43 Maine

Dirigo (which translates to "I direct", or "I lead")

#8 Massachusetts

Ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem (which translates to "By the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty")
