Announcement in Harmony Montgomery Case Coming Thursday

The search for Harmony Montgomery, the Manchester girl who has not been seen since 2019, will be updated by New Hampshire Attorney General John Formela Thursday afternoon.

Formela will be joined by Manchester Police Chief Allen D. Aldenberg and United States Marshal Enoch F. Willard for the 2 p.m. announcement in Concord. A statement from Formela did not disclose any details about the announcement.

The last significant development in the case was in June when investigators searched an apartment on Union Street in Manchesterwhere Harmony's father Adam Montgomery and stepmother Kayla used to live.

The Union Leader, citing unnamed law enforcements, said law enforcement will announce that the search has become a homicide investigation.

Speculation was rampant about the significance of a refrigerator wrapped in black plastic that was removed late Tuesday morning, according to a report by WCVB. Other items marked as evidence were also removed from the apartment.

"In order to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation, officials will not be disclosing what items are being sought and what, if any, evidence is located. Officials also caution against any speculation related to items being removed," the state Department of Justice said in a statement.

Adam Montgomery is in jail on charges that he abused his daughter. Kayla Montgomery is out on bail after pleading not guilty to perjury charges.

Harmony Montgomery turned eight years old in May. She was reported missing in December, but had not been seen since October 2019.

She is described as approximately 4 feet and 50 pounds with blonde hair, blue eyes, and glasses. She is blind in her right eye. Information about the girl's current location or her disappearance can be called into a special tip line manned 24/7 by Manchester Police at 603-203-6060.
