Last night at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Manchester, the Steel Chef competition took place where four chefs from NH served up some delicious meals involving carp and mushrooms.  Doesn't sound delicious to me, but the chefs made some amazing dishes!

The event benefits the NH Food Bank.  Celebrity Chef, Michael Symon of the Food Network, hosted the event.  WMUR was a sponsor of the event and the lovely and talented, Erin Faleau was one of the judges.

The Winner:  Brandan Vesey, Owner of Botanica Restaurant and Gin Bar, Portsmouth, New Hampshire.  I have to admit, I have yet to try Botanica Restaurant, but I've been looking over their menu and their Grilled Lobster tail with saffron butter over rice, topped with mushrooms, leeks and more lobster sound flippin' amazing!

The NH Food Bank is always looking for volunteers to donate their time.  If you are interested in helping families in need, please click here.  You might be surprised to know that 1 in 9 New Hampshire residents struggling to make ends meet – including children, senior citizens and entire families.
