According to WMUR, Windham Police have noticed an increase in daytime spottings of coyotes recently. Apparently it is not so unusual to see this time of year. They are simply hunting for food to feed their young.

However, we don't want coyotes getting too comfy with humans so Windham Police said it is important to "haze" coyotes if you spot them during the day. Which sounds kind of mean but it is necessary. Hazing them could mean making a loud whistling sound, clapping your hands, banging pots and pans, that kind of thing.

With so many reports of rabies in Northern New England, if you notice that a coyote appears sickly or is acting strangely, contact Windham Police right away. (603-434-5577)
