Did You Miss Seeing The Cutest Baby Kangaroo in Dover, New Hampshire This Weekend?
If you missed Apple Harvest Day, you missed a LOT, including a baby kangaroo. My goodness, how adorable! This bundle of fur was just the most amazing creature to see up-close and personal. It's something I've wanted to see ever since I was a child reading Winnie The Pooh.
It turns out this "Joey" is from the Wildlife Encounters Ecology Center and Wildlife School located right in Barrington, NH. As it turns out, he is one of SO MANY mammals that they have at the sanctuary. The Center also has fox, skunks, opossum, porcupine, prairie dogs, chinchilla, even hedgehogs just to name a few!
Truly, that's not even scratching the surface of the animals they have. If you're into replies, they have alligators, lizards, geckos, pythons, all kinds of snakes, turtles and tortoises, some of them who were strolling around Apple Harvest Day - you may have seen them.
The Center has cool birds, frogs, scorpions, spiders, even HISSING COCKROACHES! oh! The farm animals that they have at the sanctuary are much more my style.
Doesn't this sound like a cool place? Truly, they have animals from all over the world Here's a bit more about them, according to their website:
Founded in 2004 and run for over 17 years as an outreach educational program only, the Wildlife Encounters Ecology Center & Farm School today is a private nature-based educational entity that has grown and developed to manage a 77 acre nature preserve in Barrington, NH and a USDA licensed dependent-wildlife sanctuary in Rochester.
You Can Book a Visit
The Center will give you your own personal tour if you are interested. Click here for more information.
