In case you had forgotten, it was about this time last year that Red Sox Nation was up in arms over the fact that Don Orsillo was not being brought back to the broadcast booth after many years calling the games.

During his tenure with the Sox, Don O also hosted close to 30 on-field ceremonies for the team, many of which had David Ortiz standing close by.

And there was Don O last night, on the field, hosting another on-field ceremony, and there was Big Papi close by, because Ortiz was getting another gift.

Don Orsillo is the TV play-by-play guy for the Padres and though the team stinks, they play in San Diego and I hear the weather is generally pretty good there.

If you stayed up to watch the games, you saw that there were quite a few Sox fans in attendance for the series, and they came with signs for D.O. He seemed quite appreciative.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
