The Ice Castles in North Woodstock opened today.  According to their website, their primary goal is to "make people smile."

I thought the Ice Castles were exclusive to NH, but as it turns out, there are similar places in Here's a description of the Ice Castles from their website:

Ice Castles is an award-winning frozen attraction located in six cities across North America. The experience is built using hundreds of thousands of icicles hand-placed by professional ice artists. The castles include breathtaking LED-lit sculptures, frozen thrones, ice-carved tunnels, slides, fountains and much more.

Tickets are not very expensive and with the long, cold winter upon us, it's nice to have a place to go with the family.

Check out this video from a couple years back:

The Ice Castles began by a Dad who wanted to entertain his kids when they moved from Sunny California to Utah.  He built an ice cave that his kids absolutely loved and an attraction was born.
