There's a couple of ever-popular quotes that basically state humans are inferior to dogs -- "Humans don't deserve dogs" and "Dogs are better than humans." And 9.95 times out of 10, that can probably be proven as legitimate. But there's a .05% that debunks that myth, and that .05% is because of Pipe Dream Brewing in Londonderry, New Hampshire.

According to Pipe Dream Brewing's Instagram page, coming up on Saturday, July 24 from 2p-6p, there will be an event put on called the Pup Crawl, which will benefit the Humane Society of Greater Nashua and the pets they shelter (not just dogs, but all of them.)

What is the Pup Crawl?

According to the Humane Society of Greater Nashua's website, the Pup Crawl is their newest event that is an entire weekend-long pub crawl style event from Friday, July 23 through Sunday, July 25 with multiple breweries participating.

For just $15 (the cost of the ticket to participate), you'll receive a Pup Crawl t-shirt, a "Pawsport" (which is your passport to all of the participating breweries), and a ticket to the Pup Crawl Finale event happening at the Biergarten at Anheuser Busch! For anyone who hits all 5 participating breweries, whether it's in one day or spread out through the weekend, you'll be entered into a special raffle.

Different breweries may contribute at different donation levels, but in the case of Pipe Dream Brewing, for every pint sold between 2p and 6p on Saturday, July 24, $1 will be donated to the Humane Society of Greater Nashua.

Again, this goes back to the fact that we were forced during the pandemic to step outside our normal way of thinking and our comfort zone and create new ways to put on events and operate businesses, and this is just an amazing way to not only celebrate summer since we were robbed of one last year and get out in the public after we couldn't last year but also do some good for the animals in need in the area.

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
