The Boston Red Sox are off to their best start in franchise history. At 8-1 the Sox are in sole possession of first place, and have the best record in Major League Baseball. How long that will last is anyone's guess. After all, the New York Yankees come to America's Most Beloved Ballpark later this week. I know they're currently 5-5...but they're the Yankees. And they have a big bat by the name of Giancarlo Stanton, sitting in the middle of the order, just waiting to crush home runs over The Green Monster. Sure, he hasn't exactly been ripping the cover off the ball so far this season...but I don't want to start at Fenway Park.

Despite the frigid temperature, I was thrilled to attend my first ever Opening Day. Although I missed the Air Force F-16 flyover, the National Anthem, and the first pitch (thrown out by former Patriot, Teddy Bruschi)...thanks to a parking nightmare...I was there for the official start of the game.

I won't bore you with my thoughts on the game. All I will say is...it was an AMAZING finish! It was the BEST Red Sox game I've been too in many years. While the game was very exciting, I wish I could say the same for the new highly touted concessions menu. You'll remember last week I told you about the creme brulee French toast, the Fenway Taters, and the Taco Trio. Sadly, I did not get to sample a single one of them.

First of all, the French toast is only available to a select few. So I was all about the Fenway Taters and the Taco Trio. However, they were sold out by the time I made it to the concession stand in the 5th inning. Obviously they were very popular. My advice is to you is...if you want either one, get there early and don't wait until your hungry like I did.

Needless to say, the old faithful Fenway Frank, didn't disappoint. And a guy making chicken tenders thought my girlfriend was cute, so he gave her a free tender while we waited in line. Much to his dismay, she gave it to me!

Despite the food and the weather, my Opening Day experience was fantastic. Let's hope the Red Sox keep the historic momentum going, and we finally find out way back to the World Series. Go Sox!
