First Game at Fenway Park Was 105 Years Ago Today
The original opening game was supposed to be played don April 17,1912, but rain pushed the start back three days to April 20th,1912.
The opponent for Fenway's inaugural game was the New York Highlanders.
The Red Sox would win the game 7-6.
The Highlanders would change their name to the Yankees for the next season.
My first visit was in the summer of 1976. My favorite player was Fred Lynn.
The old ball park has gone through many changes over the past 105 years, and is still one of the major attractions for out-of-towners in Boston each year.
