A gourmet food services company that specializes in bringing high-end culinary experiences to people's homes and venues has rejoined the Greater Dover Chamber of Commerce.

Chef Michael Pentasuglia is the owner of Michael's Gourmet Food Services in Dover. Potential clients call his company and they set up a one-hour free consultation.

During that consultation, the type and extent of the service, date and time, menu choices, allergens, where specific work will occur and payment options are discussed.

Within three days, clients are presented with an estimated bill.

Depending on the event, a semi-formal contract may be required, according to the company's website.

On their Facebook page, people can get a sense of who Pentasuglia and his team have worked with.

In 2019, they were working with Tuscan Market before they closed their site on Lafayette Road in Portsmouth to move to the center of Market Square.

Pentasuglia has been focusing on targeting personal clients. On-site specialized gourmet dinners for the family or special dates include a full menu and service.

High-end dinners can be created for up to eight friends or business associates.

Michael’s holds cooking classes and wine pairing classes in host's homes for up to eight people altogether.

The company can also cater house parties of up to 20 people on any day except Sundays. If people want to have their food on Sunday, they can provide all the service and food set-up on Saturday.

“We strive to make an excellent meal of your choice in your home with as much or as little customer interaction as desired,” Pentasuglia said in a statement issued by the Chamber.

During an interview on Wednesday afternoon, Pentasuglia said he is hoping people will allow him to give them the full gourmet experience with all of the elegance that goes along with it.

"Getting into the personal chef business is something I've always wanted to do and I really want to chart my own course at this time," Pentasuglia said.
