Seventy years ago on this day in Toronto, Canada, Neil Percival Young was born and the music world has received so many sonic treasures because of his genius. Here are a few of my favorites from Neil.

This tune is from 'Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere' and I love this acoustic stripped down version. This track is timeless and Neil wrote it THE SAME DAY as the following gem.

He was in bed with the flu and wrote this and 'Cowgirl' within hours. How come when I have a bad flu all I get is nightmares about fanged Care Bears?

'After The Gold Rush' on a pump organ? Yes. And it is magical.

Most people listen to this record and say 'WTF?' I think it is such a great retro take on a song that he's had in his repertoire for over a decade before this infamous track hit MTV in the 80's. And I love it! HAPPY 70TH NEIL!
