Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports and super pizza reviewer, has continued to check out pizzerias across the country and grade them for better or worse.

For 2025, he managed to hit up 30 pizza spots in New England, with 16 of those in Massachusetts.

Of the 16 Massachusetts places Portnoy reviewed in 2025, thankfully, there weren't any super-low scores.

There was a nice range in graded numbers as well as a variety of pizza styles, including Greek, bar pie, New York, and Chicago.

At one point during his review tour, he even started using a "Cape Cod scale" for scoring to add some extra context and comparison for that style of pizza.

Dave Portnoy's Top Massachusetts Pizza Place in 2025

It looks like Blue Square Pizza in Hopkinton definitely was among the top marks for pizza in 2025.

Portnoy visited this spot in July, scoring the highest number, an 8.1, for the restaurant's Chicago-style pizza.

He also gave high scores to the other styles for New York and Detroit, so you'll likely have a great slice depending on which one you pick.

What's more, nine of the 16 places all scored over 7, so plenty of new above-average places to check out. Overall, it seemed to be a good year for pizza in Massachusetts.
