Meet Gilbert The Party Pig Spreading Joy Across New England
I’ve always believed you can tell a lot about a person by how they treat animals. For me, being an animal lover isn’t just a personality trait, it’s something that shapes how I see the world.
So when I come across stories that combine compassion, rescue, and education, they're totally worth talking about! And this one? This one made my heart smile.
And it all starts with a pig. But not just any pig. Gilbert the Party Pig!
He is turning heads across New England, not just because he’s adorable (which, let’s be honest, he absolutely is), but because he represents something much bigger. What began as a rescue story has grown into a full-blown mission: to change the way people see pigs.
So Gilbert travels to birthday parties, schools, community events and even to piggy yoga sessions! He supplies the oinks and cuteness while participants leave with a smile. Kids (and adults) get the chance to connect with a special farm animal while learning about the breed and suddenly, their perspective shifts.
Because pigs aren’t just farm animals!
They’re incredibly intelligent. In fact, they're considered smarter than dogs. They’re emotional, social, and capable of forming deep bonds. And when people meet Gilbert, they see that firsthand. They see gentleness. Curiosity. Personality.
As someone who fully supports rescue efforts, that’s the part that hits home for me. Every interaction becomes an opportunity (not just for a cute photo or a fun memory) but for understanding. For empathy. For change.

Gilbert isn’t just showing up to events. He’s quietly reshaping how people think about animals: one smile, one pet, one moment at a time.
And honestly? The world could use a little more of that... And a lot more Gilbert!
