Okay, you know how we are in a panic right now?  Maybe it's just me, but where are we going to get all the holiday pies now that Harvey's Bakery has closed?  My Mother in Law is going to disown me if I don't get her a delicious pork pie.

Lucky for us, my friend Monica told me about Lou's Pastry that opened up this past Summer in Rochester, NH or should I say RE-opened. I'll explain.

I had to find out more about this bakery that Monica just raved about for myself, so I called and spoke with Jolene.  (No, she's not named after the song.  It's the first thing I asked her.)

Jolene told me that Lou's Pastry is not exactly new to Rochester.  Her in-laws, Debbie and Lou Sbrizza, owned the pastry shop but closed years back.  The family is from East Boston, so the pastries tasted like they were from there!  When it closed, the customers were really sad.

Jolene and her husband, Patrick, who is a 3rd generation baker opened up Lou's Pastry once again in the Summer of 2025.  She told me that they have everything for your holidays that you could possibly want, including pork pies.  (thank God.  They are saving my marriage....)

The only bummer is Lou's doesn't make anything with Maple, YET.  So, the maple squares from Harvey's still remain elusive.  (Unless anyone knows Pam and I can bribe her to make some for me.)  That doesn't mean that they'll never have them.  (This is me being an optimist and knowing how bakers/cooks are.  Always trying something new, so... get at it, Patrick.)

Lou's is taking holiday orders.  Order those pork pies, etc. by the Sunday before Thanksgiving and you too, can have all the deliciousness for your holiday table.

I called 603-919-7223, but I also plan on going to see Lou's Pastry's at 185 Wakefield Street, Rochester.  See you there!
