A trucker escaped with minor injuries after his dump truck went off the Spaulding Turnpike and plowed into trees Monday morning.

New Hampshire State Police said James Cartmill, 60, of Concord, lost control of his Peterbilt dump truck just north of Exit 9 (Route 9/Route 108) around 10:45 a.m., and went off the right side of the highway and into the trees. Cartmill went to an urgent care on his own for treatment of soreness.

The initial cause of the crash is an unspecified mechanical issue, according to State Police.
