A Middleton man died after his ATV flipped over and pinned him underneath the handlebars Sunday night.

Edward Roberge, 54, of Middleton was riding along John Jones Road around 9 p.m. when he swerved and rolled his ATV, according to New Hampshire Fish & Game.

Operator error and lack of protective equipment were contributing factors to the crash, according to Fish & Game.

NH Fish and Game, Middleton Fire, Milton Police, and NH State Police responded to the crash scene.

John Jones Road is a Class IV road that is not maintained or repaired.

Alix Dorsainvil, a nurse kidnapped while working with a ministry in Haiti, also lived in Middleton.
