The driver in a fatal hit-and-run crash between a pickup truck and motorcycle in Plaistow Wednesday afternoon has been taken into custody.

Motorcyclist Lory Beck, 64, of Epping was struck at the intersection of Main Street and Westville Road around 3:35 p.m., according to Plaistow Police Chief John Santoro. Beck was taken to Lawrence General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup left the scene, but witnesses were able to provide a detailed description of the driver. Barry Burrows, 78, of Kingston was arrested Wednesday night with the assistance of both Kingston and Newton police. He is charged with conduct after an accident – death resulting, and is being held at the Rockingham County Jail.

Residents told WHDH TV that speeding is a problem in the area, although the crash remains under investigation.
