Jonathan Interviews 2X NHRA Funny Car Champion Matt Hagan

The NHRA New England Nationals are Friday, Saturday and Sunday at New England Dragway in Epping.

It's the fourth annual NHRA New England Nationals featuring drivers in three categories- Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock.

The drivers are vying to earn points heading to the 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series World Championships. This weekend is the ninth of 24 events in the series.

It's a 3-day event sure to be filled with drama and loud noise.

Here is the weekend schedule:

FRIDAY, June 3 - LUCAS OIL SERIES qualifying
MELLO YELLO SERIES qualifying at 4:30 and 7 p.m.
SATURDAY, June 4- LUCAS OIL SERIES eliminations
MELLO YELLO SERIES qualifying at 1:30 and 4 p.m.
SUNDAY, June 5 - Pre-race ceremonies, 10 a.m.
MELLO YELLO SERIES eliminations begin at 11 a.m.

This week, I was able to speak to 2-time Funny Car World Title holder Matt Hagan. Matt will be at New England Dragway this weekend. He talked about why the NHRA New England Nationals are unique to the series.
