After a terrific off season of key acquisitions and a draft class that even the harshest critic couldn't find fault with, here comes a new sensational Spygate story that's about to dominate the headlines.

According to a new ESPN report with multiple authors, brings into focus the rumored 2008 independent investigation into Spygate that was threatened by the late Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter.

The investigation never happened as it disappeared from the media cycle both quickly and unexpectedly.

The reason being?

According to this story, a very famous person who was a friend of both Pats owner Robert Kraft and Senator Specter, used his charm and influence to make it all go away.

That person? None other than the 45th President of The United States, Donald J. Trump.

Of course this was eight years before he ever ran for President, but it still makes a very juicy headline.

My whole take on Spygate is this.

The New England Patriots were caught red handed filming the sidelines of The New York Jets almost FOURTEEN years ago.

They were punished. The league took away their first round draft pick the next year, the team was fined $250,000 and Coach Belichick himself was fined A HALF MILLION DOLLARS.

The scrutiny that followed that incident continued for years and indirectly brought about 'Deflategate' and they were punished AGAIN. This time even more harshly, in my opinion.

Brady is long gone as well as anyone else that was on that 2007 team.

To quote William Shatner on a classic SNL skit where he goes berserk at a Star Trek convention, "Will you get a life people?".

FOURTEEN YEARS have gone by.

If this becomes the dominant story like it did back in 2007, I swear I'll live in a shack behind the studio and take up macreme and never watch sports again.
