According to a story in Fosters, layoffs are coming to UNH in order to build its financial strength, so says President James Dean.  It isn't known how many positions or which departments could be affected.  Dean wrote in the letter sent to staff:

We recognize that eliminating positions is difficult and painful..... Anyone who has their position eliminated will be treated with the utmost concern and respect; we are already exploring potential outplacement services. I want to reiterate that this is all in service of strengthening our ability to perform our core mission.

 

 

WMUR reports that UNH lecturers are still stinging from layoffs two years ago.
