A New Hampshire Macy’s Store Is Closing, Leaving Only 3 in the State
Yet another iconic retail brick and mortar store is shutting it's doors for good.
It was announced quite a while back that Macy's would close several of their stores and now it looks like we are getting to the end of the line.
The company has announced that it will close 150 stores by the end of 2026, according to axios.com. Macy's long term plan is to concentrate on its "high end brands," a plan they call "a bold new chapter."
Macy's announced that the Newington, New Hampshire location would be closing sometime in January, 2026. All of the stores in that retail part of the town are closing for a new development that has been in the works for years.

If you want to put a positive spin on it, it would be the best time to go in and see what they have on sale because I'm sure that everything is going to go.
There Will Only Be 3 Macy's in New Hampshire After This Month
Macy's will only have three locations in New Hampshire after Newington shuts their doors in Salem, Manchester and Nashua.
Macy's has extra special meaning to me. When my Mother was alive, I would pick her up and take her shopping at Macy's for the holidays. She would want to buy something for everyone, so I had to put a cap on it, but it was great fun. Macy's jewelry department was the place my husband bought my engagement ring too. It's just sad to see such an iconic store closing.
