Man Shot in Knee during Amesbury, Mass Home Invasion

A man was shot in the knee at his Amesbury home Monday morning during a home invasion prompting a search for the gunman with a canine unit.

Amesbury Police said two men entered the Mill Street home between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. and fled after the shooting in a 2019 gray Nissan Altima with Massachusetts license plate 8TM 845. The resident was taken to Portsmouth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim may all know each other, according to police.

Amesbury Police sent an image of the assailants late Monday morning.

The assailants are described as two white males with shaved heads. One was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with North Face written on the front in white print. Police believe they have left the area but are conducting a search with canines. There is no threat to public safety, according to police.
