Manchester 2nd Grader Heading To Ninja World Championships
Born with Microtia, the 7 year-old will use this experience for empowerment, and to help him face adversity, according to his parents.
Hunter Gebo is looking to put Manchester, New Hampshire on the map in his own way. According to Portsmouth Patch, the second-grader is a member of the Stealth Squad at USA Ninja Challenge in Manchester. Gebo has been competing for months. He qualified for the championships during a regional competition last week.
Hunter's mom, Nancy Glynn says he was born premature, weighing only 2lbs, and with a condition known as microtia. Also known as 'little ear', Hunter has suffered significant hearing loss. His mom says Hunter loves the gym, telling Portsmouth Patch "If he's not at the gym or a competition, he's creating cliffhangers and obstacle courses from whatever is around him. When he told us he wants to compete and eventually make it on to the American Ninja Warrior Junior show, we decided the best thing we can do is support him and provide as many opportunities as possible for him to follow his dreams.
To follow those dreams, Gebo says the family needs $2,500 to help with costs, and a GoGundMe has been set up. Check it out here
