The 23rd Annual New Hampshire "Maple Weekend" is here. It's time to get the family together and drive to your favorite sugar house(s) for this time-honored tradition. These sugar shacks across the state open their doors to everyone to show off the centuries-old craft of maple sugaring, according to the New Hampshire Maple Producers Association. NH syrup makers produced approximately 154,000 gallons last year, as per the Eagle-Tribune.

According to the association's website, you can meet the maple producers of New Hampshire and take a tour to see how the operation works, while you enjoy free samples of fresh syrup, maple candies and confections, along with doughnuts and coffee. Some sugar houses are even doing pancake breakfasts. Others have petting farms and/or horse-drawn rides.

Is this a tradition in your family? Where's your favorite sugar house? Let us know in the comment section below or on our Facebook page.
