We are bombarded all day everyday with bad, sometimes tragic news. So when the picture of Massachusetts State Trooper Luke Bonin sharing lunch with a woman who "appeared down on her luck" on a street in Fall River took the social media world by storm, it was a refreshing change.

Usually it's unpleasant news, or Kardashian related stories that go viral. And as far as I'm concerned most Kardashian news is unpleasant.

Back to the good story.

According to State police " Bonin had just left court when he saw the woman panhandling on the side of the road, holding a sign asking for help. Instead of telling her to move along, Bonin drove to a restaurant and ordered two lunches. When he returned, he offered the woman one of the meals."

A passerby took the now famous picture, posted it on social media, and thus we have nice story to share.

On their Facebook page, the State Police wrote "Yes, Trooper Bonin, we know you do not want or expect publicity. We know you didn’t want to be noticed, but you were, and the job is proud of you," State Police wrote on Facebook. "We commend you for your selfless act, and for 'doing the right thing' for someone less fortunate than most people."

Perfect.
