My wife and I carved a couple of pumpkins last night while my daughter tossed pumpkin goo and seeds all over the kitchen.  Clean up was rough, but the pumpkins are ready for Halloween.

I carved a cyclops pumpkin, while my wife chose a spooky cat.  We used stencils because, well, because it makes it much easier and the pumpkins come out looking much better than if we had done it free hand.

Plus, all of the ideas you need are right in the book.  I broke a few carving tools in the process and the dog ate a bunch of pumpkin waste, but I think we had a successful Wednesday evening pumpkin carving session.
