Rain and wind have caused many communities in the Granite State to shift their Halloween festivities until this weekend.

It's Halloween in November! Seems a little odd, but it's going to happen. According to Union Leader, communities across New Hampshire have wrestled with postponing trick-or-treat festivities. Already, Hollis, Windham, Pelham, Atkinson, Enfield, Fremont, Hampstead, Kensington, Lincoln, Salem, Hudson, and  Nashua have stuck a fork in plans for Thursday night.

However, not everyone is throwing in the towel. The Union Leader reports areas like Manchester, Merrimack and Litchfield are going ahead with plans, at least for now, despite the wet forecast.

The weather is looking terrible. According to WMUR News 9, a strong front will arrive Thursday, just in time for trick-or-treating. Heavy rains are expected to pelt the region, and wind has potential to ruin many costumes.

These wet conditions make trick-or-treating extremely dangerous. Lt. Carlos Camacho of the Nashua Police Dept told Union Leader “For motorists, make sure you are aware of your surroundings and be extra vigilant because the rain can cause some vision issues.”
