Thursday is National Margarita Day. Am I excited? Is a lime green? Heck yeah, I'm excited. Who doesn't love a margarita? I prefer mine on the rocks opposed to frozen.
And while a strawberry margarita is nice every now and again, call me a purist if you must..but I'm a fan of the classic margarita. Although I do like to put a twist on it and use coconut tequila.

I looked all over the internet for a great recipe to share with you...and I think I found one on liquor.com. While there were several good recipes, many of them rely on pre-made sour mix. Those things suck! Fresh limes are the only way to go if you're going to drink a legit margarita.

Actually, a margarita is simple to make. Here's the recipe recommended by the website:

34 oz of fresh squeezed lime juice
12 oz of tequila (I love 1800 coconut flavored)
Kosher salt (optional if you like it around the rim)The add the ingredients to a shaker filled with ice and shake. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass or rocks glass filled with fresh ice. And garnish with a lime wheel.Have a safe and happy Margarita Day. Don't drink and drive. Bottoms up!
