An American Airlines Pilot went viral over the weekend for an in-flight Navy tribute

He then points out that there is an extra member onboard the flight, but not in a seat, instead below the aircraft.

His name is unknown as of this writing, but over the weekend, video captured of an American Airlines Pilot addressing passengers on his flight went viral. In a video that was reposted by the E! News Instagram page, leading to tons of celebrities commenting on it, the Pilot asks passengers to thank any members of the military, past or present, seated next to them. He then points out that there is an extra member onboard the flight, but not in a seat, instead below the aircraft.

The Pilot goes on to mention that the aircraft is transporting the remains of who he identifies as "Lieutenant Commander Daniel Nin" to his home in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, after he passed while serving "in the New England States."

Daniel Nin was stationed in Rhode Island as an Academic Director for the Navy

According to his LinkedIn page, Daniel Nin first joined the Navy as a Supply Officer June 2008, eventually raising to become a Supply Officer for Naval Special Welfare Group FOUR six years later in July 2014. From there, he was elevated to the Principal Assistant for Logistics with the USS KEARSARGE, in November 2015, which he served as for almost three years. It was during the pandemic, in July 2020, that he settled into what would be his final role with the US Navy as the Academic Director for the US Navy Supply Corps School.

Multiple celebrities commented on the Pilot's tribute for Daniel Nin

This past Friday, the E! News instagram page got hold of the first part of the mid-flight tribute for Lt. Cmdr. Nin, which caused various celebrities to both see and comment.

"S***...I wasn't ready." - Jenni "J-WOWW" Farley, 'Jersey Shore Family Vacation'

"OMG" - Kyle Richards, 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills'

"That got me." - Jamie Foxx, actor/singer

A GoFundMe has been set up for Lt. Cdmr. Daniel Nin's family to help with expenses and, as the GoFundMe puts it, "rebuilding." Lt. Cmdr. Nin left behind his mother, Ileana, his brother, Gab, and his 8-year-old son Will.

Lt. Cmdr. Daniel Nin was no doubt an honored part of this 100 years of American military history
