Why the New Hampshire DMV is Moving From Epping to Raymond
This is a big change for the Raymond / Epping, New Hampshire area.
The Epping Department of Motor Vehicles is moving to the Raymond Shopping Center at 17 Freetown Road.

According to the dmv.nh.gov, Safety Commissioner Robert L. Quinn said that they are looking to improve customer experience by "reducing overcrowding, improving workflow, and creating a more efficient and welcoming environment.”
Here Are Reasons Why The Epping DMV Wasn't Working for NH
If you've ever been to the DMV in Epping, you may have noticed that there are a couple problems with that location:
1) The waiting area in Epping is very small. The seats are always filled and if you have to wait in line, you are always in the way of people traffic.
2) Getting out of the driveway to the Epping DMV onto Route 125 is just about impossible, especially if you are turning LEFT. The road is super busy and turning left is an exercise in patience. (No offense, but a visit to the DMV is already a test in patience. Adding traffic is just salt in the wound.)
The Epping, NH DMV Will Close on January 9, 2026
The last day for the Epping DMV is Friday, January 9, 2026. If you have an appointment at the Epping branch after that date, you will automatically be transferred to the Raymond location, you don't have to do anything.
If you visit the DMV, no matter where it is in NH, you have to make an appointment on the Homepage of their site.
This is good news for the other businesses in the Raymond Shopping Plaza like Pizza by George, the NH Liquor Store (right next to the DMV?) and Ace Hardware.
