How To Get Into These Two Extraordinary New Hampshire Restaurants
Some have said that these two restaurants in Exeter, New Hampshire are hard to get a table at. My first reaction is, "Would you want a restaurant that had empty tables? It's probably a reeeeally great place if you can never get in." My second reaction is, "You're just not going about it the right way." I'm here to help.

My brother John is a chef. He is supposed to be retired, but doing something as personal as cooking for people your entire life, he's never going to retire. He loves people and he loves food.
John recently asked me about the two restaurants in Exeter that he has been eager to try, but for a few reasons, he's been unable to. Sometimes it was because the restaurants were full or he showed up too late or it was too early for him to walk in, etc. Now, he's obsessed with getting in, so, being the helpful little sister that I am, (I'm a helper...) here's a little bit about these two places and how to get in.
Ambrose Restaurant, 6 Front Street, Exeter, NH
To get into this restaurant, you can just go to their website, (link above) but I would encourage you to call the Inn by the Bandstand. If you know Exeter at all, you know the bandstand. The restaurant is just across from it. I called to find out more about Ambrose and I spoke with the nicest gentlemen who answered all my questions and encouraged me to call back when I wanted to make a reservation.
The Executive Chef Stanley Orantes has worked in top restaurants in Boston and has a passion for desserts. (You had me at... chocolate)
Otis. 4 Front Street in Exeter, New Hampshire
Chef Lee Frank has a menu that he will create especially for you. There will be no decisions on your part. (How nice is that?!) You pay one price and you get the entire culinary experience from appetizer to dessert, using local farm to table ingredients.
The easiest way to get in to Otis is to go online and make a reservation. The hardest seat to get is at the Chef's counter, especially on a Saturday night, so you may have to wait, but from the reviews, it's worth it.
