Flying the family to Disney for school vacation? You might not have to drive far.

According to Fosters.com, Frontier Airlines announced last week it would begin flying out of the Portsmouth International Airport on Dec. 6. Don't like the hassle of flying out of major airports like Logan and Manchester? The growing airport will begin non stop flights from Portsmouth to Orlando, FL, with more flight destinations expected to be added. Pease Development Authority Executive Director David Mullen told Fosters “Strictly because they do more than just direct flights to Florida, we’re bound to gain the benefit of some of their additional markets.” “They serve 102 cities now and they’re adding new ones all the time.”

Mullen also mentioned flying with Frontier would be easier, as potential customers are able to use third party sites to book seats. Frontier's slogan is “low fares done right.”

The expansion is coming at the right time. The airport has been trying to add a second airline to compliment Allegiant, and this announcement arrives less than a month after the PDA board of directors approved a $19 million upgrade and expansion of its airport terminal, according to Fosters.com.
