Much needed help arrived from China yesterday afternoon carrying 91,000 pounds of personal protective equipment at Manchester Boston Regional Airport, according to a report from WMUR.

Governor Chris Sununu and other government officials were there on Sunday to greet the plane with the potential life-saving PPE.  Dean Kamen, NH inventor, who led the effort to get the equipment, was also on hand.

The WMUR report quotes Governor Sununu as saying,

One month ago New Hampshire wasn’t even in the business of PPE procurement, and today we secured 91,000 pounds of this critical lifesaving equipment for our state........ We worked around the clock, scoured the earth, and left no stone unturned to ensure New Hampshire has the resources it needs to combat this pandemic. Huge thanks to Dean Kamen for facilitating this effort, and all others who worked tirelessly to make it a reality — I couldn’t be prouder.

Dean Kamen, inventor of the Segway, was the one who initially made the phone call to his employees in China, according to an article in the Union Leader.
