Sununu Takes 3 COVID Tests After Waking with Symptoms

Gov. Chris Sununu said he took three COVID tests on Wednesday all coming up negative.

"I woke up with symptoms similar to COVID and out of an abundance of caution I took two rapid antigen tests, which came back negative, and then followed up with a PCR test, which confirmed the negative," Sununu said via his official Twitter account.

Sununu said he was going to "rest up" and would be back at the State House soon.

He sent a tweet Wednesday morning that he put himself into isolation although he is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and postponed a scheduled Executive Council meeting.

Sununu was vaccinated with the one-shot Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine on April 10.

The governor was in Kentucky on Monday with other state officials "to get their on-the-ground perspective on lessons learned and best practices in one of the hardest-hit states during the pandemic," Sununu wrote on his Twitter account.

According to the CDC symptoms of COVID-19 may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Symptoms include:

• Fever or chills
• Cough
• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
• Fatigue
• Muscle or body aches
• Headache
• New loss of taste or smell
• Sore throat
• Congestion or runny nose
• Nausea or vomiting
• Diarrhea
