Of course North Conway makes the top ten. If you're in the mood for foliage there is no better place in America for leaf peeping than North Conway.

TripAdvisor, the world's largest travel site, has a list of the top ten fall foliage destinations in America. Based on a recent survey of U.S. travelers 82 percent were planning an autumn escape so it's important to consider the best place to go.

Our very own North Conway came in at number 2! Here's what TripAdvisor had to say about:

Offering more than 700,000 acres of protected forest, North Conway is a spectacular venue for viewing fall color. Travelers can hike the trails of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast, or drive along the Kancamagus Highway where they will see the seasonal sights from their car. "We were there at the end of September and the fall foliage was incredible," commented a TripAdvisor reviewer.

Other notable foliage hotspots included Stowe, VT (#1).

Without a doubt my favorite time of the year is Autumn. The temperatures, the views, the seasonal food (Apple Crisp!), all make for a perfect season.

Every late October I make a trip up north to do some hiking and take in the views. Driving along Rt. 16 through the White Mountains is an incredible experience.
