A 5-year-old girl was hit by a car Thursday morning as she entered the road headed to her school bus.

North Hampton Police Chief Kathryn Mone said the girl was struck on North Road around 7:45 a.m. by a red Honda Accord driven by Ava Brown, 20, of North Hampton.

The girl was taken to Exeter Hospital to be checked over for non-life threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed.
