Outdoor Dining in Portsmouth Could Be a Thing Soon
Wow! Wouldn't this be GREAT?
Yesterday, Portsmouth City Councilors approved applications for outdoor dining permits for several Portsmouth restaurants, according to a report from Seacoast Online with "no opening date anticipated at this time," said City Manager Karen Conard.
The restaurants that made the requests to the City Council are Popovers on the Square, Fezziwig's Food and Fountain, Raleigh Wine Bar and Market, The District, Row 34 and BRGR Bar and all the applications were unanimously approved.
The report goes on to say that the seating will have "appropriate distances" between tables, but it's not clear how the servers will actually serve the food. Will the servers just throw food at the patrons? Highly unlikely that will happen. Maybe they set the plates on a secondary location and whomever ordered the food will have to get up from their "socially distanced" table and get it themselves? If that's not how they plan on doing it, then - you're welcome for the idea.
It just seems like a ray of light for everything going on right now and I could not be happier about it!
