Remember When Ozzy Osbourne Performed Here in New Hampshire Almost 40 Years Ago?
We lost an icon this week. Ozzy Osbourne passed away at the age of 76.
The '80's music scene was ruled by two schools - the first one being the disco/pop genre. Think Wham!, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Kool and the Gang, etc. The other side of music was the rock side. You were either one or the other, hardly both.
On the rock side of the music scene of the '80's, Ozzy Osbourne had been fired from Black Sabbath and had started his music career with a monster hit single, Crazy Train.
Back in 1986, Ozzy performed right here in New Hampshire at SummerJam in Kingston, New Hampshire, according to WMUR-TV.
Ozzy was blonde at the time, which is a period of hair design that I was not a huge fan of. I'm glad he went back to his basic black.
The video not only shows Ozzy in all of his '80's glory, but also the swinging hair of Jake E. Lee who was his touring lead guitarist at the time. Jake was part of the hair band Ratt before joining Ozzy.

Zakk Wylde, who was Ozzy's longest guitarist, replaced Jake in 1987. Who was better? Hard to say. They are both monster guitarists.
I will say that I witnessed Zakk blow out the speakers at a show in Medford, Massachusetts at the Chevalier Theater when he was on tour with Generation Axe. So, I might like him a weee bit better. That was awesome.
How Much Do You Think Tickets Sold For To See Ozzy Osbourne in NH?
This now historic show sold tickets for $20 at the door. Wow.
