Plowable Snow In New England Might Mess Up Thursday & Your Weekend Plans

Get ready for two potential storm systems.

The first one happens Thursday, according to our news partner WMTW. Meteorologist Sarah Long says the snow will start falling during the early morning hours. Long predicts between 4 to 7 inches of snow for most of Maine (and New Hampshire), and 2 to 4 inches in York County. There is also a winter weather advisory in effect from midnight until 5 p.m. on Thursday for central and southern Maine. Long says the heavy snow will impact the morning commute.

Then, another snowstorm is expected in New England this weekend, as per WMTW. Long expects the snow to start later Saturday into Sunday. On the coast and in southern Maine, there is potential for a mix of snow and rain because of the track of the storm. Long says there will be heavier snow in the mountains. Meanwhile, WMUR Meteorologist Eric Weglarz is reporting that "plowable snow amounts" are expected this weekend for many places in New Hampshire. Weglarz also indicates that wind chills will be dangerous both Friday and Saturday morning, ranging from 8 to 25 degrees below zero.
