A man who was a suspect in an armed robbery in Auburn, Maine led police on a 50 mile pursuit into New Hampshire on Sunday and now faces charges from both states.

Maine State Police said Ahmed Duale, 27, of Lewiston was spotted on Route 95 in Scarborough in the early afternoon after receiving a call about his driving. Duale failed to comply with troopers orders to stop, and instead sped up and weaved in and out of traffic according to Maine State Police.

Despite the use of spike mats, Duale crossed the border into New Hampshire where New Hampshire State Police joined the pursuit as he drove the wrong way on Route 95. A Maine State Police vehicle was damaged when Duale tried to use a crossover near Route 33 in Greenland.

This also slowed Duale down enough for police to end the pursuit and take him into custody.

Duale is facing numerous charges in Maine including eluding, aggravated driving to endanger, criminal speed, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, as well as armed robbery out in the city of Auburn.

The New Hampshire charges include felony reckless conduct, disobeying a police officer, disorderly conduct, reckless operation, and indecent exposure.

Duale is being held at the Rockingham County House of Corrections pending arraignment Rockingham Superior Court.
