We are doing our part to take care of mother earth one Dunkin' styrofoam cup at a time. As we've learned, single-use items are the enemy and must be regulated if we have a shot in saving our planet! Over the past few years, we have seen bans on plastic straws as well as plastic bags. Now styrofoam is being added to the list!

According to Seacoastonline, on Monday night The City Council voted for Portsmouth's first-ever citywide ban of styrofoam cups and containers. The ban will go into effect at the end of 2020. The news site states that Councilor Josh Denton said this will give folks time to prepare for the ordinances and determine best practices before the ban goes into effect.

As with any change, I foresee people being annoyed at first. But we shall adapt just as we did with the plastic bag ban. I still always forget to bring my cloth bags into the grocery store but I will get there.
