The Seacoast Emergency Response Team arrested two people in a hotel parking lot Wednesday who police said were distributing fentanyl and methamphetamine on the Seacoast.

Bradford Sargent Jr., 40, and Jannelle Brown, 37, both of Portsmouth, were arrested at the Homewood Suites Hotel following a two month investigation into the distribution of illegal substances in Rockingham and Strafford counties, according to Rockingham County High Sheriff Charles Massahos.

"Significant quantities" of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, suboxone, and cash were found during warrant searches of their room at the hotel and the two vehicles they were using.

Sargent was charged with two counts of conspiracy to distribute a controlled drug and three counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled drug.

Brown was charged with three counts of sale of a controlled drug and three counts of possession with intent to distribute a controlled drug.

Both are being held on a no bail, preventative detention.

The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force led the investigation in conjunction with the Strafford County Sheriff’s Office Problem Oriented Policing Unit, Portsmouth Police Department, and the FBI Safe Street Task Force as a part of New Hampshire’s Operation Granite Shield.
