Scary Lightning Strike Will Make You Think Twice About Boating In New England

Check out this video of lightning striking a sailboat during a thunderstorm on Saturday at the Columbia Yacht Club in South Boston. Our news partner WMTW shared a video shot by Harry Minucci via WCVB-TV. He told the news station that the 40-foot sailboat that was hit belongs to his friend. In the video, you'll see lightning striking the mast of the boat, igniting a spark that would have put a person standing in its path or nearby in serious danger.

Luckily, no one was injured and the boat seems to be intact.
