It's sad to see that the decline of brick and mortar stores is continuing, with what were once some of the biggest names in retail closing many of their locations. The most recent casualties are some big department stores in New Hampshire.

According to, Transformco, the parent company of Sears and Kmart, will soon close a total of four locations in the Granite State. The Sears locations in the Steeplegate Mall in Concord and the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua, as well as the Kmart locations on Hooksett Road in Hooksett and on South Broadway in Salem are going out of business.

The stores will all close within the next few months, and will be offering some big liquidation sales as the end approaches. It is not clear how many employees will be affected by the closures.

The Sears in Concord was one of the original department stores at the Steeplegate Mall when it opened nearly thirty years ago.
