Chicago & Styx Coming to New Hampshire and Massachusetts in the Summer of 2026
It was announced that Styx & Chicago's "Windy Cities Tour" is coming to New Hampshire and Massachusetts in July of 2026.
Even if you didn't know anything about the band Chicago, you could understand the reference to the "Windy City." BUT, you may not have been aware that Styx also originated from Chicago, Illinois - hence, the name of the tour. That's not where the similarities of these two bands stop.

As all bands do, Chicago has changed their sound over the years, but this band in particular, changed their sound pretty drastically after several album releases.
One of the band members died in the late '70's. Then, in the early '80's with new management, a new producer and a new record label, the horn section was relegated to the background. Classic Chicago fans may not have been pleased, but the new "softer" side of the band gave them more #1 songs since it began in the late '60's.
At Chicago's live performances, you now will get both versions of the band.
A similar path was taken by Styx. They were hugely successful in the '70's, with hits like "Blue Collar Man" and "Come Sail Away" which had a harder rock sound.
Then in 1979, we heard the softer side of Styx with a song that Dennis DeYoung wrote for his wife that was never intended to be for the band, but it ended up being their only #1 song.
If you're a super fan of one or maybe both of these bands, you can see them two nights in a row.
Chicago and Styx are playing in New Hampshire on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at BankNH Pavilion in Gilford, NH. The next night, Sunday, June 26, 2026, the bands are playing at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
