Massachusetts has plenty of unique towns throughout the entire state. Not just that, but really some of the most unique towns throughout the entire New England region. Some of those towns have some of the more quirky and/or one-of-a-kind attractions that you won't find anywhere else. Thanks to this fact, it seems that more specifically, two of the most eccentric towns throughout all of New England are right here in Massachusetts.

We all know that Massachusetts has an incredibly rich history. It may also be pretty common knowledge that the oldest city in the Bay State is Plymouth. However, over on the western side of the state, it's not nearly as much of a known face just how old some of these towns in the Berkshires are.

The New England states are some of the most densely populated throughout the U.S. This happens to include our very own state, Massachusetts. You might expect any town throughout the New England region to have a relatively decent population. In fact, in New England, there are 236.9 people per square mile on average, which is much higher than the national average of 79.56 people per square mile. However, despite being the most populated of all the New England states, Massachusetts has a town with a population that is even less than the national average of people per square mile.

Hard to believe that anyplace in New England is 'affordable,' especially if you're shopping for a place to live, but these two New Hampshire towns made the Top 20 list in all of New England

When anyone thinks of Massachusetts, there's a good chance they may be quick to think of places to travel to like Boston, Cape Cod, Salem, the Berkshires, Cambridge, or Nantucket/Martha's Vineyard. People here know there are plenty of other amazing spots that I'm leaving out. However, none of those were picked as the 25 most underrated destinations in the U.S. As it turns out, the Bay State has two of them. What do you think they are?
