The best free music you will find on the Seacoast is free... and on a Sunday morning.  What else have you got to do?

I am not preachy, nor very religious, but that is a conversation for another day over a couple glasses of wine.  I am, however, known to attend church services where I know I'll hear some fine musicians.

This past Sunday, my family and I went to the New Castle Congregational Church where we saw some fine musicians.  One of which, Robert Stibler, is faculty at UNH and my trumpet teacher.  (Betcha didn't know that I blow a mean horn....)  He was joined by John Hunter on bass, Charlie Blood on piano and Portsmouth, NH legend, Sharon Jones on vocals.  If you know any of these jazz cats, you know that you're in for a treat!

It was a beautiful day and when the music started, we were transported from a little church in New Castle to a jazz club without the drunk people.  It was lovely and I highly recommend it if you are looking for something to do on a Sunday morning.
