The Seacoast NH Counties With Highest COVID-19 Rates

According to the NH COVID-19 Response Dashboard, all ten NH Counties have substantial levels of community spread and the cases within NH's seacoast counties are the most troubling.

Strafford County - 222 Active Cases

Test Positivity Rate Over 7 Days - 8.6%

Though the test positivity may be slightly lower in Rockingham County, the overall numbers are just as alarming.

Rockingham County - 567 Active Cases

Test Positivity Rate Over 7 Days - 8%

The criteria for 'Substantial Community Transmission' and 'High Community Transmission' varies slightly depending on which source you reference.

According to The CDC, Rockingham and Strafford Counties are experiencing COVID-19 transmission of the highest level, which is when the positivity rate exceeds 5%.

Interestingly enough, using the CDC criteria, the only US State with a level of Substantial COVID-19 transmission, is our neighbor, Maine.

I'd have guessed Vermont, because it seems as if they're always used as the gold standard for COVID safety, but Vacationland stands alone.

At his last NH State update press conference on COVID-19, Governor Sununu said that the next few months could be worse than anything we've experienced thus far in the fight against this disease.

With the majority of children returning to school over the next eight days, I can't imagine a scenario where things will be getting much better.
